So, I'm getting pretty close to being finished with this project - I loved it, but I'm glad it's over. So here are my finals, as finished as I think they'll ever be. Much love. xx
My mum (known to myself and my closest friends as 'Duck') used to say about bread crusts and biscuits and so on which she would leave out for the various feathered friends which frequented her workplace. Just a nice little story, really. Now, these images are early roughs for the Bird's in Flight installation for the RLB display window we Illustration students are doing to promote the British Art Show 7, and the rebranding of the university. (Birds just seemed a nice way of insinuating positivity and growth). Anyway, comments are appreciated, so do let me know what you think. Much love. xx
I am currently feeding my fascination with the fabulous 1920s - I've just finished reading "Brideshead Revisited" by Evenlyn Waugh, and have been listening to an audiobook of P.G.Wodehouse's "Three men in a Boat", and feeling inspired. I've always adored the images of 1920s actresses, models and film stars; they look so sensual, yet haunted... both borderline dead and vigorously alive. I'm aware that I am now speaking nonsense, but you know what I mean. Anyway, here's the first installment of drawings.
Did these when I went to the pub with my brother to watch the football. I affronted the men within the pub by drawing and reading 'Brideshead Revisited' - I am clearly an unnatural creature. Anyway, these are the resultant scribbles.
Here are a few pen and ink/graphite/mechanical pencil drawings I've done of various bits of architecture from around Plymouth (although the first one is technically a building in Paignton). I did these for little reason other than my own satisfaction - I do so love old buildings. Please excuse the shoddy quality of the photos - away from my scanner, I have only my phone to take pictures with, so you will have to deal with the 5mp glory of it!
I'm a 3rd year Illustration student at the University of Plymouth. I'm from London and Southampton, and I now live in Plymouth. Please feel free to contact me at -
